New Season. New Job!

Yesterday was the first day of fall AND the first day getting oriented for my new job! I can’t express how happy I am to have the opportunity to work as a graphic designer for a great Kalamazoo establishment. I’ve lived here since attending college and have grown to love this community so nothing pleases me more than to do what I love for the community that I love.

After Christopher and I decided to stay in Kalamazoo for at least this next year I made a few long term and short term goals so I would use this next year in a constructive way. My first goal was to participate in a 5k run and in August I completed that goal with The Color Run. My big goal was to find a gig in graphic design. I was searching as far west as Grand Rapids and as far east as Marshall for the right opportunity. Little did I know that I would find the perfect job only a block away from where I use to work. My morning commute will not change at all. I feel so lucky. Now my focus will change once again to concentrate on doing well at my new job, change my blog focus a little, up the ante in networking and dabble more in my painting.

This is what I wore during my orientation. I now get to venture into the fashion world of business casual! This thrills me greatly! My good friend, Caitlin of To Be Determined, invited me to shop her gorgeous vintage inventory and I picked out some great things, one of which is this beautiful microfiber purple skirt. Orientation involved a lot of sitting and listening so wearing a very comfortable outfit was important.

Also, I’ve been really loving to wear colorful bobby pins to tame my hair these days. AND it matched my skirt!
