Falling Hard

The scent of dried leaves have saturated the air and my hibernation rituals have begun. The blankets have been pulled out of storage, multiple tv shows have been added to the Netflix queue, and I’ve got hot chocolate on stand-by. When you think about it that way, hibernation isn’t really so bad. The leaves fall down leaving behind their season just as the sun retreats a little more each day. All of this happens each year, some years it feels gradual and other years it feels sudden. Every year we go through this and some years are easier than others. Fall has been a difficult transition for me this year. For some irrational reason I was hoping for eternal summer.

I have been fortunate enough in the last couple of days to take some photos and get outside. I think half the reason why I like taking outfit pictures is getting outside and taking in the fresh air.

This pretty blouse is from my pal and etsy shop owner, Caitlin, of To Be Determined. I love the color and bow on the collar is perfect. Doing the more business looks is easy with pieces like this one. I have been wearing a lot of sweaters as jackets lately. It is a great transition for the season, before I’ll have to wear jackets over my sweaters in winter.

This is the last set of photos I took before getting my hair cut. The last time I had cut my hair was 2 years and 4 months ago. The reason why I didn’t cut it for so long wasn’t just because of my wedding, but I will admit that was part of it, I also wanted to see how long it would grow before it just stopped. It’s sufficient to say that I wasn’t willing to keep the experiment going. It became A LOT of work to take care of it all. It also became difficult to style. I thought that I would feel more remorse after I cut my hair, especially because many people would tell me how much they like my hairs’ length, but I have to say, I wasn’t sad at all when I saw the end result. I was very ready for a change and I love how it turned out. (photos to come, shortly I promise) I did enjoy having ‘mermaid hair’ for a while though :)
