The moment I decide that I should leave the apartment to run errands during the weekend is just about the same moment that I reach for my stand-by cardigan, tank, jeans, and a pair of boots. Now that there is a wintery chill in the air I grab my favorite mittens and scarf too. Being comfortable almost makes up for the laundry list of things I should do while I’m out and sometimes I throw in a trip to the thrift store which always ends up to be a good idea.
This weekend ended up being quite Christmas-y, complete with an Ugly Christmas Sweater party hosted by our friends with cookie decorating and gingerbread martinis. Christopher and I have done zero decorating in our apartment so seeing friends with festive decorations reminds me that Christmas is really right around the corner! Our first stop will be next weekend, where we will be celebrating with Christopher’s family. Until then I will be resting up and finishing some last minute things before the Christmas marathon begins!
And yes, I did give in and buy the boots I had been longing for ever since I saw them. They were a bit of a splurge but I did use a great coupon which made them a little more affordable AND they are pretty much the only shoe brand I totally trust to last and last. I’ve only ever had great experiences with Born so I didn’t mind that much because I know that I will wear them until they fall apart which might take decades.
